What do you enjoy most about your job?

The work I do for Honeywell is exciting because my division of the company develops innovative software solutions that improve the productivity of its clients and workers as well as solutions that make working in dangerous situations safer for everyone. I love knowing that the projects we work on help factory workers, first responders, and others go home safely at the end of day.

From when I first toured Athens before I was a student at UGA, I loved going to north campus to admire some of the university's oldest buildings and most beautiful greenery. A day spent studying on the north campus lawn was a day well spent.

2.

Another Athens favorite for me was going to downtown Athens to enjoy a cup of coffee at Walker's or Jittery Joe's. There are a lot of good coffee shops here in Atlanta, but nothing will ever beat the familiar taste of Walker's 1000 Faces Coffee or seeing old friends there.

3.

Above all, though, my favorite thing to do in Athens is spend a Saturday between the hedges watching the Dawgs play. While I was a student, I never missed a single home game and gained a gray hair on my head for every one I attended. When 15 seconds left in a game could change everything, you age a few years.

What is your most memorable game day memory?

I'll never forget when I sat at the front of the student section for the UGA - Auburn game back in 2014. We won 34 - 7, but the energy of that night was just electric. The student section was cheering and yelling at the top of their lungs to try to get Auburn's offense to make a mistake. I lost my voice that night, but I got on TV when the game aired on ESPN and we got revenge for the year before at the infamous Prayer at Jordan-Hare game the year before.

We'd like to thank Jay for sharing these great memories with us!

If you would like to nominate someone who attended UGA, Auburn or Florida for our next round of Alumni Insights, please tag them and we'll get in touch with them.
